FLOODING UPDATE

MALONE — Franklin County officials continue to monitor flooding on Lower Park Street in Malone. Malone Town Supervisor Howard Maneely said officials used the Marine 1 watercraft from the Hogansburg Fire Department to conduct flood assessment Sunday. On Saturday, Senator Betty Little toured the affected area. According to Maneely, seven residences have been evacuated, including a group adult home where seven occupants were moved to safety. Officials hope that warm weather forecast for the coming week will help break up the ice jams and diminish the flooding.

  PERSONAL INJURY ACCIDENT

TUPPER LAKE — State Police in Tupper Lake investigated a minor personal-injury accident at 5:10 p.m. Saturday on Route 3 near the border between Franklin and St. Lawrence counties. Troopers said Cynthia Bisson, 64, of Piercefield, was driving her 2012 Toyota Prius westbound on Route 3 when she apparently fell asleep. Bisson drove off the east shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree. Bisson complained of neck pain but refused medical treatment. No tickets were issued.

FELONY ARREST

CHAMPLAIN — Chazy-based State Police arrested a Flushing, N.Y., man at the Champlain border crossing as a fugitive from justice, a felony. Troopers said Se Yyun Park, 46, was stopped at about 3:12 p.m. Sunday while attempting to re-enter the country when officials learned he was wanted in Mississippi for a bad-check charge. Park was arraigned in Champlain Town Court and sent to the Clinton County Jail on no bail to await an extradition hearing in Clinton County Court.
