BANGOR — A Bangor woman was charged with felony driving while ability impaired Saturday.
At about 4:50 p.m., police observed a vehicle traveling westbound on State Route 11, moving at 63 mph in a 35 mph zone, Malone-based State Police reported.
After initiating a traffic stop along with standard field sobriety tests, police determined that the driver of the vehicle, Dorene G. Raimondo, 49, was allegedly impaired by narcotics, police said.
Raimondo was arrested and charged with felony driving while ability impaired, with a prior conviction in 10 years. She was also ticketed for speeding, police said.
Raimondo was arraigned in Town of Bangor Court and released under supervision of probation. She is to reappear in the town court today at 4 p.m.
TICONDEROGA — Two people were injured in a one-car accident Sunday morning.
At about 10:45 a.m., Derrick Bright, 18, was traveling west on Montcalm Street when he lost control of his vehicle after sliding on ice and crashed into a utility pole, according to the Ticonderoga Police Department.
Bright was transported to Moses Ludington Hospital for a broken arm, and a 17-year-old female passenger, whose name police declined to release due to her age, was also transported for a laceration, police said.
No tickets were issued as of Sunday afternoon.
