Police Log: Dec. 10, 2012


SCHROON — A Schroon woman was injured in an accident Friday.

Helen D. Wildman, 83, was driving on State Route 74 in the Town of Schroon at about 11:36 a.m. when her vehicle was struck by a truck driven by Mario Anastasio, 63, of Flushing, as she was driving through the intersection of Route 74 and Saw Mill Road, according to police.

Wildman was transported to Inter-Lakes Health in Ticonderoga with minor injuries.

Inter-Lakes Health would not release her Wildman’s condition.

No further information was available.


AUSABLE — A Peru man was arrested early Saturday for allegedly driving while intoxicated.

Plattsburgh-based State Police said Keeseville troopers pulled over Tanner W. Currier, 25, at 1:40 a.m., after they observed a cigarette being tossed from his car’s window. During the traffic stop, officers smelled alcohol on Currier’s breath and initiated a preliminary breath test, which he failed.

Currier was charged with felony DWI for having a DWI conviction within the last 10 years.

Currier was released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to reappear in court Dec. 14.

PLATTSBURGH — A third arrest has been made in connection with a burglary at an AuSable Forks pharmacy. 

According to State Police based in Ray Brook, Brian J. Blaise, 31, of Peru was arrested 4 p.m. Dec. 7 for his alleged role in the burglary, which took place at Feek Pharmacy in August. 

Blaise was charged with one count of third-degree burglary, a class D felony, and arraigned in Jay Town Court. 

Police reports did not specify when Blaise is scheduled to reappear in court.

An initial investigation into the burglary revealed that the building was broken into between 6 p.m. Aug. 16 and 7:55 a.m. Aug. 17, at which time several bottles of prescription pain medication were stolen. 

On Sept. 5, Keeseville-based State Police arrested Justin H. Hicks, 25, of Keeseville for his alleged role in the crime. Hicks was charged with three felonies, one misdemeanor and one violation and remanded to Essex County Jail pending a future court date. 

Additionally, Sara K. Hebert, 23, of Chesterfield was arrested Sept. 7 in connection with the same incident. She was charged with third-degree burglary and remanded to Essex County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
