PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENTS

PLATTSBURGH — Two people were hurt in an accident in the Durkee Street parking lot Friday. Plattsburgh City Police said Sarah Lawrence, 37, of Ellenburg Depot, was pulling out of a parking space when she backed into a taxi. The taxi was driven by Kenneth Suttles, 50, of Plattsburgh. No tickets were issued. Suttles complained of pain in his shoulder. One of his passengers, Shelly Gainer, 58, of Plattsburgh, complained of pain in her neck. They were transported to CVPH Medical Center. Suttles’s other passengers were were uninjured.

DICKINSON — A Brushton ATV driver was hurt Saturday when he was struck by a car. According to Malone-based State Police, John A. Berkman, 42, of Brushton, was driving south on County Route 5 in Dickinson when he collided with Minas P. Stone, 70, who was pulling out of his driveway on an ATV. Stone, who had been plowing when the incident occurred, was transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries. He was ticketed for driving an ATV on a roadway. No further information was available Sunday.

FELONY ARRESTS

PLATTSBURGH — A Chazy man was arrested Sunday for alleged drunken driving. Plattsburgh City Police said Rolla Parker, 39, was taken into custody at 12:57 a.m. on Durkee Street in Plattsburgh and charged with driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within 10 years, a felony, and operation of a vehicle without a headlight, a traffic infraction. Parker was held overnight and arraigned later Sunday morning in Plattsburgh City Court. He was remanded to Clinton County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. The date on which Parker is scheduled to reappear in City Court was not available Sunday.

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was arrested on Friday afternoon and charged with burglary. Daniel Roeser, 24, was arrested at 3:45 p.m. and charged with burglary in the second degree, a class C felony; unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor; and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor. Plattsburgh City Police said the charges stemmed from a domestic dispute. Roeser was arraigned in City Court and remanded to Clinton County jail in lieu of $5,000 and $10,000 bond.

PLATTSBURGH — A downstate woman was charged with felony DWI Sunday after she allegedly was found to be intoxicated at the Plattsburgh State Police Barracks, having driven there to pick up a friend who also had been arrested for DWI. Lyndsay R. Taft, 21, of Islip Terrace in Suffolk County, N.Y., was arrested at 5:42 a.m. Sunday. Upon interviewing Taft, police said, officers could smell alcohol on her breath and learned that she had driven herself to the station. She was given a blood-alcohol test, which indicated her blood-alcohol content to be 0.13 percent, according to police. Taft was charged with driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction, a felony. No further information was available Sunday.
