Traffic stop nets cocaine charges for 2

PLATTSBURGH — Two local women were charged with cocaine possession following a Sept. 1 traffic stop.

At about 1 a.m. on North Margaret Street in the City of Plattsburgh, State Police stopped a vehicle driven by Sarenia A. Agoney, 33, of Morrisonville for a tinted windshield violation, said Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman.

Agoney and her passenger, Julie L. Skidmore, 39, of Plattsburgh were arrested at 1:17 a.m. after troopers found 11 grams of cocaine packaged for sale inside a backpack in the vehicle, Fleishman said.

Both women were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony.

Agoney was also cited for driving a vehicle with a tinted windshield.

She and Skidmore were arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court before Judge Mark Rogers and sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond each.
