Moriah Country Club to host girls’ softball fundraiser

PORT HENRY — The Moriah Country Club will be hosting the annual Moriah girls’ softball team’s “Drive to Mudville” golf tournament at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The format is a four-person scramble with entry fee being $25 for members and $35 for non-members. Entry fee includes dinner and prizes.


Guay records hole-in-one at Harmony

PORT KENT — Peru Central School student Jordan Guay aced the 165-yard seventh hole at Harmony Golf Club this past Sunday. Guay used a 7-iron to record his hole-in-one.


Altona Youth Commission holding sign-ups

ALTONA — Altona Youth Commission rosters are due to the county shortly and those who have not contacted the youth commission as yet must do so by Friday. The program is for athletes ages five to 16 and includes T-ball, softball and baseball. All Pony level athletes are also encouraged to sign up.

YMCA registering for T-ball and coach pitch leagues

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh YMCA continues registration for its T-ball leagues (boys and girls ages 3½ to five) and coach pitch leagues (ages six to seven). This instructional league begins May 11 at Blumette Park on Sandra Avenue. Children from all area communities are welcome to participate. The practice/games will run for 60 to 90 minutes on Saturday mornings for eight weeks.

The 3½ to five-year-olds go from 9 to 10:15 a.m. and the six and seven year-olds from 10:30 a.m. to noon. All children will receive a T-shirt, hat and trophy. Volunteer coaches will be needed for this program (indicate on form if interested). The deadline for registration is May 7.
