McSweeneys tops Plattsburgh Baseball Club

PLATTSBURGH — McSweeney’s captured the regular-season title in the Plattsburgh Baseball Club with an 8-3 record and will be the top seed in the playoffs, which begin tonight.

At 5 p.m. at South Acres Field tonight will be the quarterfinals, a one-game elimination contest between fifth-seeded City Fire (4-8) and fourth-seeded Play It Again Sports (4-7).

The survivor of that game will advance to the best-of-three semifinals, with the first game scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Lefty Wilson Field against top-seeded McSweeney’s.

The other semifinal, pitting third-seeded Kiwanis (7-5) versus second-seeded City Police (7-4), will also begin on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at South Acres Field.
