LAKE PLACID — Mikal W. M. Thompson, 19, of Lake Placid was arrested at about 3:50 p.m. Sunday on two counts first-degree criminal contempt and two counts second-degree harassment.
Thompson was arrested after allegedly having physical contact with two people who were protected from him by a restraining order.
Thompson was processed and arraigned in Village Court and released under the supervision of probation. He is to re-appear in court at a later date.
PLATTSBURGH — A Dannemora resident was on a police chase for about five minutes throughout the city of Plattsburgh Sunday morning at 12:45 a.m., police said.
Jason F. Broomall, 31, was driving a Nissan with Pennsylvania plates when he was spotted in the city parking lot on Durkee Street. He had one passenger in the car, Jeremy Kain, 41, of Plattsburgh.
Broomall was to be pulled over for a traffic violation, but refused to stop.
After a brief chase, Broomall pulled over at Cornelia and Wells street, where he was charged with speeding, passing through a red light, failing to stop at two stop signs, DWI, reckless driving, unlawful fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment to the first degree, resisting arrest and felony DWI.
Because Broomall was shot with a Taser, he was transported to CVPH Medical Center.
Broomall was held at the Clinton County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
ELLENBURG — An Ellenburg Depot man is accused of felony drunken driving.
According to Chazy-based State Police, Brian L. King, 52, was arrested at 7:35 p.m. Friday after failing to stop at a road block on Route 11 in Ellenburg.
Ellenburg Depot Fire Department had closed off a section of the road, police said, so a tractor trailer blocking the roadway could be removed.
The Fire Department told a State Trooper on scene that King had driven past the road block, according to police.
