TO THE EDITOR: What kind of idiots do they have working for the Social Security offices these days?
At two Social Security offices, a woman from each office told my very good friend, Mary, that she did not have to report her new income to the Veterans Administration office and Mary told both women she did have to report it. They both told her, “No, no, you do not have to report it to the VA.”
So Mary thought coming from two different Social Security offices that they knew what they were talking about. But they didn’t. Mary was in no fault whatsoever.
These two women working for Social Security should have been better than that.
TO THE EDITOR: The National Honor Flight Network now has a new chapter in our area, the North Country Honor Flight.
Our mission is to send World War II veterans to their National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., all expenses paid.
This is our way of paying tribute to those who gave so much — a memorable, safe and rewarding Tour of Honor.
We are searching for World War II veterans in Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties, all World War II vets are eligible. We have excellent medical staff on the flights, so wheelchairs or medication is not an issue.
If you know of any veterans in the North Country that you would like to see honored, please contact us right away; email: HonorFlight@Charter.net.
Our first of four flights this year is scheduled for May 18.
Let’s step up and pay tribute to the Greatest Generation. Thank you.
