Day 2 of Mehan tourney a washout

PLATTSBURGH — Rainy weather in the North Country on Sunday wiped out all of the local baseball schedule.

The second day of the Brian Mehan Wooden Bat American Legion Tournament, hosted by the Clinton County Senior Mariners, got under way in the morning but was rained out shortly after.

The Mariners are scheduled to get back on the diamond tonight at 6 p.m. at Lefty Wilson Field against the Burlington Lynx.

Also rained out were the Post 326 Adirondacks Junior American Legion contests versus the Colchester Cannons and Whitehall in Lake Placid.

Post 326 is at the Clinton County Junior Mariners on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, in Lyon Mountain, three Champlain Valley Baseball League games were postponed and no make-up date has been scheduled. Those games included the Fourth Ward A’s against the Lyon Mountain Miners, Meron’s Expos opposing the Fourth Ward Cardinals and Peabody’s Padres versus the Fourth Ward Timberjaxx.
