PIERCEFIELD — A Tupper Lake man was charged March 24 with felony driving while intoxicated.
At about 9:50 p.m., New York State Police stopped an eastbound vehicle on Route 3 in the Town of Piercefield driven by Chad M. Savage, 43, for failure to keep right, Tupper Lake-based State Police Sgt. Johnathan Herrick said.
Savage failed roadside sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.10, Herrick said.
Savage was arrested at 10 p.m. and was charged with felony operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of more than 0.08 percent and driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within 10 years.
He was arraigned in Town of Piercefield Court and released on his own recognizance to reappear at 5 p.m. April 25.
CHAZY — One person was injured in a two-car accident Wednesday.
Shortly before 5 p.m., a car driven by Leroy A. Longley, 70, of Rouses Point, was traveling westbound on County Route 16 near Route 190 in the Town of Altona. Longley attempted to make a left turn into the parking lot of the bingo hall, failing to yield the right of way and striking a second vehicle driven by Donald Gerald Burdo, 74, of Mooers Forks, Chazy-based State Police said.
