Lake Placid School Board meeting set
LAKE PLACID -- The Lake Placid Central School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Administrative Services Center, 50 Cummings Road, Lake Placid.
This organizational meeting will include election of officers and official designations.
The meeting is open to all.
Entries sought for Boat Parade of Lights
PLATTSBURGH -- The Plattsburgh Sunrise Rotary Club will hold its second-annual Boat Parade of Lights on Thursday, July 10, in conjunction with the 31st-annual Mayor's Cup Regatta.
This event, which is the official kickoff to the Mayor's Cup Festival, features boats of all types and sizes parading from Wilcox Dock to the judging booth at the Plattsburgh Boat Basin.
The parade begins at 9 p.m. and is sponsored by Church Oil and Perrywinkle's Fine Jewelry.
Prizes and trophies will be awarded in three divisions: boats under 23 feet, boats 24 to 30 feet, and boats 31 feet and over. Awards for the Boat Parade of Lights will be presented at the Mayor's Cup Barbecue at the Plattsburgh Boat Basin at 4 p.m. July 12.
Boat Parade organizer Dr. Jake DeSnyder said prizes include a two-night stay at Mirror Lake Inn, a two-night stay at High Peaks Resort and gift certificates to stores such as Perrywinkle's Fine Jewelry.

NCCC campuses to be closed July 3
SARANAC LAKE -- All three campuses of North Country Community College (Malone, Saranac Lake and Ticonderoga) will be closed on Thursday, July 3, for observance of Independence Day.
NCCC is currently in its summer schedule, with closure days of Friday through Sunday until August 24.
