FELONY ARREST
CHAMPLAIN — A woman was arrested for possession of an alleged fraudulent check Saturday night.
Chazy-based State Police reported Abeer A. Ghadban, 44, of Laval, Quebec, attempted to enter the United States Saturday night. She was referred to secondary inspection when the initial inspection revealed she was involved in a fraudulent check case in Plattsburgh, police said.
Ghadban is alleged to have been in possession of another fraudulent check similar to the ones she is accused of passing previously. It was payable to her in the amount of $4,000.
She was charged with second-degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony.
Ghadban was arraigned before Champlain Town Justice John Favreau and remanded to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash/$10,000 bond. She is to reappear in Champlain Town Court at 4 p.m. July 2.
PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENT
PLATTSBURGH — A pedestrian is in critical condition after he was run over by a backing pickup truck Saturday night.
Plattsburgh City Police reported John Seiden, 54, of Plattsburgh was backing his Chevrolet pickup on Roosevelt Terrace in the City of Plattsburgh at 10:45 p.m., when he ran over Ronald Boulrice, 61, of Plattsburgh.
Boulrice was transported to CVPH Medical Center for treatment of chest trauma. He was listed in critical condition Sunday night.
Seiden reportedly told police he looked in all directions and in all the truck's mirrors before he backed up and didn't see anyone.
The accident remains under investigation.
