SARANAC — State Police are continuing to investigate separate accidents that reportedly claimed the lives of at least two people in Clinton County Tuesday night.
Troopers were first called to Hugh Heron Road shortly before 8 p.m., when a car went off the road and slammed into a tree.
Minutes later, as area firefighters and police blocked the road to traffic and began investigating the one-car wreck, another serious accident was reported.
This time, it was at the intersection of Route 374 and Military Turnpike, where two vehicles collided.
At least one person from both accidents was believed to have been killed.
Morrisonville, Saranac and Dannemora emergency-medical personnel responded to the accidents, as did Clinton County Coroner David Donah.
District 3 fire personnel later blocked off a section of Route 374 as police investigated the second reportedly fatal wreck.
No additional information about either accident was available at press time.
