Leo E. Chamberlain

CHAMBERLAIN - A Mass of Christian burial for Leo E. Chamberlain, 81, formerly of the Bear Swamp Road, Peru, was celebrated 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at St. Augustine's Church in Peru. Leo died Friday, May 3, at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh. Rev. Alan D. Shnob, parish Pastor, celebrated. Altar servers were Allen Dixon, Larry Ewald, and Peter Keenan. Organist was Lynn Wilke. The pall was placed by his children, Francis "Chip" Chamberlain, Ann Hay, Mary Chamberlain, and David Chamberlain. The Bible and crucifix were placed by son, Francis "Chip" Chamberlain. Reader was niece, Melody Viele. The Eucharistic gifts were presented by sisters, Judy Gromer, and Joyce Bruno. Words of remembrance were offered by son, Francis "Chip" Chamberlain, and niece and Goddaughter, Pam Robart. Pallbearers were brother-in-law, Philip Gromer, nephews, Chad Robart, Bob Robart, and Rick Viele, and family friends, Ron Banker, and Elmer Duprey. Committal prayers, military honors, and burial followed in the parish cemetery. Father Shnob recited committal prayers. Military honors were accorded by the NYS Military Forces Honor Guard and members of the West Plattsburgh American Legion Post 1618. A gathering followed at the Peru Fire Station.
