Leland G. "Lee" Buckley
A Mass of Christian burial for Leland G. "Lee" Buckley, 84, of Route 9 North, who died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the CVPH Medical Center with his loving family by his side, was celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 3, at Our Lady of Victory Church. The Mass was celebrated by Rev. William Reamer, Pastor, concelebrated by Msgr. Dennis Duprey, Pastor of St. Peter's Church, Msgr. Joseph Aubin, retired, Rev. Normand Cote, retired, Rev. Scott Seymour, Pastor of the Catholic Community of St. Alexander and St. Joseph and assisted by Deacons John Drollette and Deacon Jack Lukaciewicz, who proclaimed the Gospel. The organist was George Shnob and bagpiper was Howard Caron. The soloist was Mitch Willette. The pall was placed by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Warren Bennett, and grandsons Ryan and Michael Bennett. The crucifix was placed by his wife, Carol Buckley. The lector was Barton St. Denis. The offertory gifts were presented by Theresa Ruoff and Sue Reidy. The pallbearers were grandsons Ryan Bennett and Michael Bennett, Don Rushford, Mark Ruoff, M.D., Jim Wells, Michael Wells, Derrick Wells, Michael Buckley and Miles Malik. Burial followed at St. Peter's Cemetery, where Rev. Reamer read committal prayers and full military honors were accorded by the U.S. Navy and West Plattsburgh American Legion Post 1619.
