LAPHAM — A Mass of Christian burial was con-celebrated Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, from St. John's Church in Plattsburgh, N.Y., for Shirley Irene Spiegel Lapham, 91, of Plattsburgh, who died Feb. 16, at Meadowbrook Healthcare. Rev. Bill Edwards, retired, celebrated the Mass assisted by Deacon Jack Cogan. Rev. Daniel Keefe, retired, and Rev. William G. Reamer, Pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church and Chaplain of CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh con-celebrated the Mass. Altar servers were Sherm Luck and Tom Rennell. Organist was George Cantin, accompanied by soloist Edith Seiferth and St. John's Choir. William Lapham, her son, placed the crucifix. Gale Carroll her daughter placed the rosary. Her granddaughter, Kelley Carroll Carlsen gave remarks of remembrance of Shirley's life. Stephen Lapham and Staub Spiegel, her nephews, read from scripture. Her son-in-law, Jim Carroll and daughter-in-law, Vickey Lapham, presented the gifts. Burial will be at a later date at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
