---- — CURTIN - A funeral service for Sister Rose (Catherine Rose) Curtin, 75, who died on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, was held on Monday at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated by Rev. Timothy G. Canaan, Pastor, and was concelebrated by Msgr. Leeward Poissant, Rev. Normand Cote, Rev. L. William Gordon, Msgr. Dennis Duprey, Msgr. Joseph Aubin, Rev. Douglas Lucia, Rev. Scott Seymour, and Rev. Daniel Keefe and assisted by Deacon Jack Cogan. Altar servers were Sherm Luck, Paul Spilman, and Joyce Conners. The placing of the pall was done by The Sisters of Mercy, the crucifix was placed by her sister, Mary Curtin Taylor, the placing of the Vows was done by Sr. Brian Marie Latour, RSM, and the rosary was placed by Doreen Curtin. Words of Remembrance were given by her niece, Annette Hidook and Words of Thanks were given by Sister Brian Marie Latour. Readings were proclaimed by Sr. M. Denise Wilke, RSM and Chandler Ralph. The gospel was proclaimed by Deacon Jack Cogan, the Homily was presented by Msgr. Leeward Poissant, and General Intercessions were by Catherine Green. The presentation of gifts was by Sister Rose's caregivers. Organist was George Cantin and the cantor was Mary Catherine Jadlos. Pallbearers were Bob Neyland, Steven Taylor, Daniel Curtin, Kevin Hidook, Michael Curtin, and Sean Curtin. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in the spring.
