MARTIN - A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, March 8, 2014, from St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville, for Penny L. Martin, 64, of Lakota Way, who died Tuesday, March 4, at her home with her loving husband by her side. The Rev. Scott Seymour, Pastor, celebrated the Mass along with Bishop LaValley, Bishop of Ogdensburg in attendance, and concelebrated by the Rev. William Reamer, Pastor of Our Lady of Victory and CVPH Chaplin, Rev. Allen Shnob, Pastor at St. Augustine's in Peru, Rev. William L. Gordon, priest in residence at St. Alexander's, Rev, Timothy Canaan, Pastor at St. John's in Plattsburgh, Rev. Msgr. Riani, priest in residence at St. Alexander's, Rev. Msgr. Cox, Past N.Y.S. Chaplin of the Catholic Daughters of the archdiocese of NYC and Rev. Raymond J. Moreau Pastor at St. Philip of Jesus in Willsboro. Assisting were Deacon Marvin Conner of St. Alexander's and Deacon Mark Bennett of St. Peter's. Altar servers were Robert Mertz, David Pereira, Abigail St. Louis, Allison St. Louis, Michael Hamilton and Alex Pacelli seminarian of the Diocese of Ogdensburg. The funeral pall was placed by Penny's husband, Edward Martin I and son Edward Martin II. Catholic symbols: cross by her daughter Kristine Gay, Bible by her daughter Casey Martin, Catholic Daughter's Sash by Mary Zesieg (NYS Regent) and Penny's Hymnal by Eve McGill, choir member. Words of remembrance were given by Helene Shepard, First National Vice Regent, of the Catholic Daughters. Scripture readings were by Marlyn Pereira and Michelle Hamilton. Pallbearers were Michael Doyle, Patrick Doyle, Joseph Martin, Joseph Harvish, Justin Hooper and Edward Wojcik. Burial will be at a later date in the Essex County Veteran's Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to W. M. Marvin's Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
