---- — DERBY - A funeral service for Geneva Derby, 94, of Lake Shore Road, Plattsburgh, who passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, was held on Monday at St. Augustine's Church in Peru. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated by Rev. Alan Shnob, pastor, assisted by altar servers Allen Dixon, Larry Ewald and Robert Herforth. The pall was placed by her niece, Janice Layton and her son-in-law, Jim Sherman. A bible and crucifix was place on the casket by her son, Donald Derby and his companion, Valerie Blaine. Gifts were presented by Donald Derby and Valerie Blaine. Remarks of Remembrance were presented by Jim Sherman. Organist was Lynn Wilke, soloist was Elizabeth Churchill and Bag Piper was James Godfrey. Pall bearers were James Godfrey, Thomas Golden, Paul Kirby, Roger Garrow, David Lawliss, and Winston Lawliss. Burial will take place in the spring in Schuyler Falls Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh.
