ELLENBURG — State Police are in the midst of a death investigation after they learned a body was in a river in Ellenburg.
State Police Troop B Capt. Robert LaFountain confirmed the investigation Thursday afternoon, but declined to provide further details.
It was shortly before 3 p.m. that Clinton County Coroner David Donah was called to the body’s location, which police could not release.
No further information was available Thursday.
CHATEAUGAY — A Chateaugay woman was charged with criminal mischief following a domestic dispute, police said.
At about 2:25 a.m. Monday, State Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence on Sancomb Road in Chateaugay, according to a State Police news release.
Erica L. Patnode, 35, damaged a television and a stereo that belonged to a person at the residence, police said in the news release.
Patnode also punched, slapped and burned a person at the residence with a lit cigarette, police said.
Patnode was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.
She was arraigned in Chateaugay Town Court and was sent to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $500 cash or $1,000 bond, police said.
Patnode is due to reappear in court Oct. 21.
PLATTSBURGH — A Schuyler Falls man was injured Wednesday when his motorcycle was hit by another vehicle, police said.
Police believe Katherine Tote, 21, of Hermon, N.Y., was driving east on Broad Street when she attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Durkee Street and struck 20-year-old Nathan Purick’s motorcycle, which was stopped at the intersection of Durkee Street and Broad Street, Plattsburgh City Police said.
At 7:44 p.m., officers arrived at the intersection of Broad Street and Durkee Street and found Purick, who seemed to have a broken leg, police said.
He was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh for treatment, Plattsburgh City Police said.
Chris Blake, a spokesperson for CVPH Medical Center, said Purick was transferred to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt., that night.
Purick was under evaluation at Fletcher Allen Health Care Thursday afternoon, according to the hospital’s marketing and communications department.
Tote was cited for making an improper turn.
