Gina Lynn (Sherman) Shelton

HUDSON, FLA. — Gina Lynn (Sherman) Shelton died on Aug. 22, 2013, at her home in Hudson, Fla., with her family and parents near her side.

Gina Lynn was born Feb. 18, 1963, in the Community Hospital, Elizabethtown, N.Y. She is the daughter of Harry and Drucilla Sherman of Westport, N.Y., and wife of James C. Shelton of Hudson, Fla. Upon graduation from Westport Central School, she continued her education at Brigham Young University earning a degree in Family Sciences. She served a one and one-half year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Vienna, Austria, and always dreamed of making the trip back to visit all the friends she had made.

Jim and Gina were married Aug. 13, 1988, in the Jordan River Temple, West Jordan, Utah, for time and all eternity. Being a wife and mother was her greatest joy. She loved helping and serving others, making friends wherever she went. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, and a day at the beach with her family and pizza was her favorite enjoyment.

She is survived by her husband, James C. Shelton; and three children, James E., 20 years old, who is serving a mission and will soon be sent to Fortaleza, Brazil, Jacquelynn, 17, who is a senior in high school, and Jakob, 13 years old, and in the eighth grade. She is also survived by her parents, Harry and Drucilla Sherman of Westport, N.Y., her sister Darcy and and spouse, Stephen Hudson and children of Westport; her sister, Krista and spouse, Stephen Day and children of Pelham, N.H.; her brother Craig and fiance Cindy Lawson, and children of Westport; and her youngest sister Sara and spouse, Isaac Wagner and children of Bel Air, Md.; her grandmother, Lunett White of Elizabethtown, N.Y., and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The funeral was held Aug. 24, 2013, at the Hudson Ward Chapel in Port Richey, Fla.
