The Press-Republican events calendar appears every Friday. Be sure submissions reach the Press-Republican newsroom at least one week before the calendar in which they need to appear.
Items should be brief, listing the time, date, place, prices, a contact number and any other essential information.
All items in the calendar must be open to the public.

John Brown Day. 8 p.m. St. Bernard’s Church, Saranac Lake, a musical Freedom Trail world premiere with the Voices of Timbuctoo Abolition Oratorio, composed by Gleen McClure, directed by Helen Demong and sung by 65-voice Northern Lights Choir.
North Country Squares Eastern and Western Dancing.7 to 10 p.m. Clinton County Fairgrounds. Special invitation to junior and senior students from high school and college. Live music with Gary Finney and his band. Free.
Hypnotist Comedy Show. 7 p.m. Brushton-Moira Central School. Master hypnotist Michael Blaine. Adults, $10, students and seniors $7. To benefit the scholarship fund.
College for Every Student Building Dedication. 5 to 6 p.m. 2303 Main St., Essex. Speakers, political leaders and CFES board members, tap-dancing performance by former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Josh Johnson and former “American Idol” Janelle Bechdol, reception, dinner, all at no charge.
Spring Rummage Sale. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Centenary United Methodist Church, 345 West Main St., Malone.

Make Mom a Special Mother’s Day Present. Imaginarium Children’s Museum, 4709 Route 9 South, Plattsburgh. Decorate a flower pot and plant a special flower for Mom. $5 per flower pot. Proceeds for the museum start-up campaign.
