---- — CLEVELAND, Ohio – The North Coast Athletic Conference announced that Kenyon College senior and former Plattsburgh High standout Hannah Saiz was voted the female Athlete of the Week. The selection was based on Saiz’s performances throughout the three-day TYR Invitational held at Northwestern University last weekend.
Even pitted against NCAA Division I competition at the Invitational, Saiz managed two individual-event wins and one runner-up finish. She won both the 100- and 200-yard butterflies in respective NCAA automatic qualifying times of 55.43 and 1:58.97. Her 200 time was also a Norris Aquatic Center record and was just .14 shy of her Kenyon record. Additionally, Saiz placed second in the 50-yard butterfly (25.46) and seventh in the 200-yard freestyle with an NCAA ‘B’ cut of 1:53.19.
Saiz’s success carried over to relay competition, as well. She swam the leadoff leg for the 800-yard freestyle relay team and the anchor leg for the 400-yard freestyle relay. Both those squads chalked up fourth-place finishes and both hit NCAA ‘B’ cuts with respective times of 7:34.67 and 3:27.40.
