PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENTS

INDIAN LAKE — A man was injured in a car accident here Monday.

Shortly before 11:24 a.m., Alex M. Giarratano, 23, of Islip was driving on Route 30 about two miles north of Blue Mountain Lake in the Town of Indian Lake when his vehicle began to slide because of black ice on the roadway, police said. Giarratano’s vehicle crossed the northbound lane and went off the road via the east shoulder, striking a ditch with the front passenger’s side. The vehicle then struck a tree. Giarratano was transported to Glen Falls Hospital by Blue Mountain Lake Volunteer Ambulance for a laceration to his right hand. He was treated and released.

Giarratano’s passenger, Daniel S. Root, 22, of Massapequa was not injured.

No tickets were issued.

BLACK BROOK — A Wilmington woman was injured in a car accident at 9:41 a.m. Thursday on Guideboard Road in the Town of Black Brook, according to New York State Police.

Mary Muzzy was transported by AuSable Forks EMS to CVPH Medical Center, where she was treated and released. 

No further details were available Thursday night.
