Meeting to be held on salt contamination

DANNEMORA — An informational meeting to update Chazy Lake residents on the well-water salt-contamination issue there will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, in the Dannemora Town Hall, 1168 Cook St.

The meeting is open to the public but would be of interest especially to all residents of Chazy Lake who live within the proposed Water District boundaries.


NCCS Board to discuss superintendent post

CHAMPLAIN — Northeastern Clinton Central School will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the Middle/Senior High library.

Items on the agenda include the search for a superintendent, the Superintendent’s Report, policies, the principal’s monthly reports and possible appointment of personnel.

The meeting is open to the public.


LPCS Board to meet in Wilmington

WILMINGTON — The Lake Placid Central School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Wilmington Community Center.

The agenda includes an executive session regarding special education and the superintendent’s evaluation, and during public session, a non-teaching staff medical leave of absence, non-teaching staff salary correction and winter sports volunteer.

The public is invited.


Memory-tree bulbs $1 each in Fort Covington

FORT COVINGTON — The Fort Covington Adult Center is encouraging residents to sponsor a bulbs on its memory tree in honor of loved ones this holiday season.

Each memory bulb is $1. A tree-lighting ceremony is set for Friday, Dec. 13, at the Adult Center. A hayride with Christmas carolers begins at 4 p.m., and the ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Free refreshments, including chili with crackers and hot chocolate, will be available.
