TICONDEROGA — Janette A. (Johnson) Putnam, 79, of Ticonderoga, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Born in Keeseville, N.Y., Dec. 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Angelina (Marcotte) Johnson.
Jan grew up in Keeseville and was a graduate of Keeseville High School. In her early years, she lived and worked in Las Vegas, prior to returning to the North Country.
She was a Ticonderoga resident for most of her life. She was employed by A.C.A.P. as the Senior Citizens Site Manager in Ticonderoga for many years and was currently the President of the Senior Center.
Jan enjoyed spending time with her family, especially cooking for them, and their many camping trips to Putt's Pond. She was well known in several motorcycle clubs as she attended many events with her son and daughter-in-law.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga and was a familiar face at most of their social events. Jan was a kind hearted woman, who loved helping people in need.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald R. Putnam in 2005; and also by one son, Michael Putnam in 1995.
Survivors include one son, Patrick J. Putnam and his wife Ruth of Moriah; two daughters, Debra Harper of Hayes, Va., and Kim Lambert of Ticonderoga; and one brother, Joseph Johnson of Keeseville. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Patrick J. Putnam, Jr., Kalyn M. Putnam, Austin J. Putnam, Michael J. Putnam, Jr., Joey Harvey, Christopher Lambert, Melissa Fuller, Jennifer Russell, Christina Nolan and Joe Ashe; 18 great-grandchildren, Taylor Harvey, Layne M. Lambert, Tristen Harvey, Caiden Meehan, Maleah Lambert, Kinzley Lambert, Ashley Ashe, Katie Ashe, Johnathan Ashe, Jacob Ashe, Joseph Ashe, Lacey Russell, Gage Russell, Parker Fuller, Addison Fuller, Preston Evens, Nolan Zwart, and Nevaeh Zwart; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friends, Allen Dakota and Ellie Crossman.
