Farmers Market. 2 to 5:30 p.m. Visitor Interpretive Center, 8023 Route 3, Paul Smiths. Fresh vegetables, berries, beads, baked goods, herbs, jams, jellies, plants, more. Part of the Adirondack Cooperative.
Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club Picnic. 5 to 8 p.m. Rec room, Cumberland Bay State Park, Plattsburgh. Bring own place setting and dish or dessert to share. Grills will be available.
Benefit for Alfred Kalvaitis. 4 to 11 p.m. Twin Bridges Veterans of Foreign Wars, 600 St. John Road, Champlain. Alfred is battling colon cancer. Activities include Chinese auction, raffle, outdoor games, live entertainment, michigan dinner. Adults, $7, children 12 and under, $5.

123rd Port Henry/Moriah Labor Day Celebration. Bluegrass music at the Port Henry Beach at 6:30 p.m. A fireworks show will follow from the State Pier at 8:30 p.m.
Story Time and Craft. 10 a.m. Sarah A. Munsil Free Library, 5139 Route 11, (next to NAPA), Ellenburg Depot. Pre-school to grade 2 with parents.
Treasures from your Trunk. 9 a.m. to noon, Harkness United Methodist Church. Shop or park and sell at the corner of Harkness and Hallock Hill roads. $5 for vendors.
Book Sale. 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sarah A. Munsil Free Library, 5139 Route 11 (next to NAPA), Ellenburg Depot. $1 a bag (call if traveling from a distance). 594-7314.
Birds of Prey Demonstration. 1 to 3 p.m. Paul Smiths VIC. Mark Manske of Adirondack Raptors will have live birds and describe the amazing lives of hawks and owls.
