Police Log: April 26, 2013


MOOERS — A Mooers man was charged with felony DWI following a property damage accident April 19.

According to Chazy-based State Police, Jason R. King, 35, of Mooers moved from a lane unsafely while he was driving on State Route 11 in the Town of Mooers at about 12:30 a.m.

His vehicle left the roadway, struck a sign and overturned, police said.

The police report did not indicate whether King was injured.

King was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol concentration of more than 0.08 percent with a prior offense, a felony; first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony; driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; moving from a lane unsafely, an infraction; and driving without a license, an infraction.

He was arraigned in Mooers Town Court before Judge Kokes and was sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $500 cash or $1,000 bond.

PLATTSBURGH — A Bronx man was arrested March 16 on drug charges.

Lennox L. Skyers, 26, was arrested on State Route 3 in the Town of Plattsburgh and was charged with second-degree criminal possession of more than 16 ounces of marijuana, according to a New York State blotter entry.

After arraignment, Skyers was sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.


KEESEVILLE — A Keeseville man was seriously injured in a two-car accident Wednesday.

Shortly after 5 p.m., Chazy-based State Police were dispatched to a car crash at the intersection of Route 9 and Chasm Road, State Police said.

Ronald H. Lahart, 60, was traveling northbound on Route 9 in an Oldsmobile Silhouette van and James W. Taylor, 49, of Keeseville was driving southbound in a Mercury Grand Marquis, police said, when the two cars collided.

Although the cause of the crash is still under investigation, police believe Lahart was turning left onto Chasm Road at the time of the accident.
