Elizabeth A. "Betsy" Seymour

PLATTSBURGH — Mrs. Elizabeth A. "Betty" Seymour, 76, of Tioga Road, Champlain Park, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with family by her side.

She was born in Plattsburgh on March 22, 1937, the daughter of the late Harold and Lillian (Avery) Cote. Betty graduated from St. John's Academy in 1955. She was employed by N.Y. Telephone Co. for many years and later was employed at Clinton Auto Parts until her retirement.

She enjoyed playing bridge at the Elks Lodge and also enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, gardening, and her cat "Fred".

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert M. and Abby Seymour of Morrisonville; a grandson, Alexander Seymour; her former husband, Robert O. Seymour of Plattsburgh; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Ron Cote.

In accordance with Betty's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at St. John's Church. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Memorial donations may be offered to the Adirondack Humane Society.
