---- — Playing

I am sick and tired listening to parents complain about their kids playing time at the varsity level. This I understand at that the Mod and JV level, but varsity is very important. If it weren’t for sports, I never would have made it through high school and college.

There should be more classes to educate hunters because then more people can get their hunting licenses. This will help with the control of the animal population.

School hours are too early. I dislike waking up at 5:30 because I am still really tired. School should start at 9 because most kids will listen better and not be as grumpy. Then we would probably do more school work.

The amount of testing for the kids in school, including kids in kindergarten, is too much. It takes away from the amount of learning that the students should have on a daily basis. The teachers have to teach how to test. This puts a lot of pressure on the students.

You hear so many stories about girls and boys committing suicide because of bullying. I went into the bathroom and found writing on the walls. It had at least 13 girls’ names on it, with terrible things written about them. The school needs to stop this from happening.

There is too much testing for kids these days. There is too much pressure on kids. Kids should have time to play because the state is training kids to take tests. Childhood is a time to play and have fun.

I think the speed limit should be decreased in populated areas. Children’s safety is the No. 1 priority for any driver in a populated area. More children will be in these areas. Please slow down for the children.

I am a high-school student who plays sports and does well in school. School goes until almost 3 o’clock and then sports are right after school until 6 o’clock. There should be more practices on the weekends and less on school days because homework takes a while.

What is happening to the Village of Rouses Point and the new board? Just watched a recent board meeting on Hometown Cable and I can’t believe how much they are spending on legal fees. Taxpayers beware.

I can’t believe the parents out there who think their kids do nothing wrong. Well, here’s a news flash for you: You don’t know your kids as well as you think you do. Quit making excuses for them

It seems that everywhere I go lately, I see women wearing binder clips as earrings. I remember when paper clips were part of some underground fashion nonsense, but binder clips? Let’s leave office supplies in the office and off of our bodies.
