Crown Point churches band for summer Bible school

CROWN POINT — The parishes of Crown Point have joined together at the facilities of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Crown Point for a community vacation Bible school this summer.

The churches, which “in the past have held separate and successful summer Bible school programs, have again decided to share the joy, the staff and the opportunity to reach into the community with a positive Christian program for local children pre-kindergarten through early teen,” the Rev. David Hirtle of Crown Point First Congregational Church said in a news release.

This year’s program is entitled “Son West Round-up.” This program is scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 19, and run through Friday, Aug. 23. The time for the school is 9 a.m. to noon. Sacred Heart Church facilities are located on Route 22/9N in Crown Point.

Children who attend will have a daily lesson, music, crafts, fellowship and snacks.

“This will be a program that will have a lasting impression on your child.” Hirtle said.

Call Sister Carol at 597-3924; or mail a child’s name, address, age and phone number to her at P.O. Box 479, Crown Point, NY 12928.
