Police Log: Nov. 30, 2012


BOMBAY — A Malone man was injured in a car accident Nov. 11.

Gary L. Lane, 60, was traveling south on County Route 1 in the Town of Bombay when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with State Route 95, according to Malone-based State Police.

Carin L. Carlin, 27, of Massena was unable to avoid Lane’s car and struck it with her vehicle. Lane’s car came to rest on the southwest shoulder of the road and Carlin’s car stopped in the center of the intersection.

Lane was transported to Alyce Hyde Medical Center by ambulance where he was treated and released.

He was ticketed for failing to stop at a stop sign.


MOIRA — A North Bangor man was arrested on felony assault charges.

Shortly before 4:48 p.m. Saturday, a man arrived to drop off a child at 174 Bowen Road in the Town of Moira, the residence of the girlfriend of Joseph M. Baker, 24.

According to Malone-based State Police, Baker went outside and verbally accosted the man and punched him in the jaw.

Baker was arrested at 7:48 p.m. and was arraigned at Town of Bangor Court. He was charged with assault with intent to case physical injury, a felony.

Baker was remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.

He was due to reappear in court Nov. 26.

MOIRA — A Brushton man was arrested on felony burglary charges Friday.

At 4:41 p.m. June 12, it was reported that games, DVDs and parts from a weed trimmer were missing from a residence in the Town of Moira.

After investigating, Malone-based State Police arrested Michael C. Brown, 24, at 4:10 p.m. Friday at his residence in the Town of Malone.

Brown was charged with second-degree burglary of a dwelling, a felony. He was arraigned at Town of Moira Court and was released under the supervision of a probation officer.

He is scheduled to reappear in court Dec. 19.
