PORT HENRY — James C. Carr, 67, of Spring Street, Port Henry, died May 4, 2014, at his home.
Born on Oct. 31, 1946, in Moriah, he was the son of the late Cryill Reisworth Carr and Anna Cecelia Carr. He is also predeceased by his only sister, Caroline Carr.
James graduated from Moriah Central School, Class of 1969. James retired from International Paper Mill in 2006 with 38 years of dedicated service.
James' hobbies and enjoyments included: fishing on Lake Champlain, woodwork in his shop, camping with his nephew Ritchie, and spending time with brother Norman at the campground. James was an original member and drummer of the band "Shadows 5".
Survivors include his two brothers, David Carr (Penny) of Crown Point, Norman E. Carr Sr. (Jean) of Whitehall; nephews, Norman E. Carr Jr. (Jessie) of Whitehall, Ritchie Korman of Port Henry, David Carr, John Carr; nieces, Tammy Carr (Tony) of Ticonderoga, Lisa Davis of Vermont, and a special great-niece, RaBecca Carr of Whitehall; also his close friends Diane and Greg HayFord of Port Henry, N.Y.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Union Cemetery in Port Henry. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are with the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry.
