---- — Economic Development Council plans workshops
PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Regional Economic Development Council will hold three workshops on the Consolidated Funding Application process.
Potential applicants will have an opportunity to learn more about the third round of funding, which will have up to $760 million resources available to applicants in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.
Workshops will be held 2:30 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, at SUNY Potsdam; Wednesday, June 26, at Clinton Community College, Plattsburgh; and Friday, June 28, at the Dulles State Office Building, Watertown.

The deadline for Consolidated Funding Applications is 4 p.m. on Aug. 12.
Applications will be reviewed by the North Country Regional Economic Development Council based on alignment with its strategic plan and will be reviewed on a technical basis by the New York State Agency Resource Team.
The 2013 Available Consolidated Funding Application Resources Manual and the 2013 Guidebook are both available at regionalcouncils.ny.gov.
Colden company to do job at local prison facility
CHATEAUGAY — A contract to do work at Chateaugay Correctional Facility has been awarded.
Global Contracting & Painting, Inc. of Colden was the low bidder to rehabilitate the water-storage tank at the Chateaugay prison with a bid on $723,998.
The New York State Office of General Services Commissioner said contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following review and approval by the State Comptroller’s Office.
