Lake Champlain Waves send 29 swimmers to event
TROY — The Lake Champlain Waves swim team sent 29 swimmers to the annual Trick-or-Treat meet held at the Robinson Pool on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Oct. 19.
The Waves were represented by Andie Abdallah, Stella Boolukos-Brinker, Isabella Brown, Lucianna Brown, Wyatt Brown, Emily Conners, Spencer Hall, Thomas Jolicoeur, Alexis Kelley, Brooke Kelley, Avery Kuhn, Alexandrea LaValley, Emelia Lemza, Garrett Lemza, Madeline Lemza, Cameron Matthews, Allison McCormick, Emily McLane, Luke Moore, Julia Mulligan, Quincy Parkinson, Nell Porter, Killyan Ruff, Alison Silver, Meghan Sorrell, Bailey VanArman, Tristen VanArman, Patrick (Joseph) Vicencio and Theadora Welch.
Lemza placed third in the 50 breaststroke and Abdallah took sixth in the 100 freestyle. For many of the Waves swimmers, this was a first opportunity to compete in a swim meet and many personal best times were accomplished.

AuSable Valley beats Potsdam in volleyball
PLATTSBURGH — The AuSable Valley volleyball team defeated Potsdam in Wednesday’s opening round of the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament. The Patriots’ opponent was printed incorrectly in Thursday’s Press-Republican.
Soccer regional admission set at $6
PLATTSBURGH — There will be four regional soccer games at the Plattsburgh High School Athletic Complex on Saturday, including the Class D boys and girls, Class C girls and Class A boys.
All admission is $6.
ADK to hike Indian Head Nov. 15
PLATTSBURGH — The Algonquin Chapter of the ADK will hike to lower Ausable Lake and up Indian Head Nov. 15 and invites the public to join.
This is a moderate hike in difficulty and is led by Anne Bailey. Call her at 563-5794 by Nov. 13.
NCCS has opening for assistant hockey coach
CHAMPLAIN — Northeastern Clinton has an immediate opening for a varsity boys’ assistant hockey coach.
