10th-annual Trick or Treat on Safety Street. 6 to 8 p.m. Crete Civic Center, 4 Beach Road, Plattsburgh. Businesses and individuals will offer goodies in two separate lines to lessen wait time.

Book Signing. 6:30 p.m. Chazy Public Library, 1329 Fiske Road, Chazy. Fantasy writer Matthew D. Ryan will sign his first book, “Drasmyr,” the prequel to his series, “From the Ashes of Ruin.”
“Legacy — Austria’s Influence on American Skiing” Screening. 7 p.m. AuSable Room, Whiteface Base Lodge, Wilmington. Produced by Culture Films LLC features Austrian skier Hannes Schneider. Co-sponsored by the Wilmington Historical Society and the Olympic Regional Development Authority. Free.
