Franklin County court hears cases

MALONE — The following cases were heard in Franklin County Court by County Court Judge Robert G. Main Jr.

Here are the dispositions:

Donald Cuomo, 51, of Burke, pleaded guilty to felony driving while intoxicated, stemming from an incident on Nov. 21, 2013.

He was indicted by a grand jury for DWI with a blood-alcohol content above .08 percent, felony DWI and moving from a driving lane unsafely.

Sentencing is set for May 27.

Vincent Skidders, 33, of Cook Road, Hogansburg, was sentenced to 200 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine for driving while intoxicated, stemming from an incident April 6, 2013.

David Sahimi, 22, an inmate at Upstate Correctional Facility, pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted promotion of prison contraband, stemming from an incident Oct. 6, 2013.

Sentencing is set for May 27.

Sahonwese Elijah, 23, of Cook Road, Hogansburg, was sentenced to five years of probation with the first six months in County Jail for second-degree attempted strangulation, stemming from an incident July 12, 2013.

An order to repay $450 in restitution was also made.

Steven Johnston, 37, of Chateaugay, was sentenced to three years in state prison for violating the terms of his probation, stemming from a conviction for second-degree assault on April 13, 2009.

He was also ordered to serve three years of post-release supervision.
