Edna Lloyd Hughes

TICONDEROGA — Edna Lloyd Hughes, 94, of Ticonderoga, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Heritage Commons Residential Healthcare of Ticonderoga. Born in Ticonderoga, Oct. 17, 1919, she was the daughter of the late James and Olive (DeLorme) Lloyd.

Mrs. Hughes was a lifelong resident of Ticonderoga and a graduate of Ticonderoga High School. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. She was employed for many years as a Receptionist for the Gunning Insurance Agency of Ticonderoga.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Lee M. Hughes in 1999.

Survivors include one son, Ronald L. Hughes and his wife, Angela of Ticonderoga; and two daughters, Mary Wilson of Glouster, Mass., and Carole H. Donovan and her husband, James of Hollis, Maine. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and three nieces.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 17, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. The Rev. Kevin D. McEwan, Pastor, will officiate. The Rite of Committal will take place at the family plot of St. Mary's Parish Cemetery of Ticonderoga at a later date.
