PLATTSBURGH — LaCinda J. Cook, 73, of Nelson Road, Plattsburgh, N.Y., died on Monday, March 10, 2014, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in New York City on May 22, 1940, the daughter of Nile LaForest and Alta Bonneau.
LaCinda married William Cook on Nov. 15, 1958, at the Wesleyan Church on Elizabeth Street in Plattsburgh. She was a stay at home mother for many years raising their five children. LaCinda began working at Don G's Orchard in the 1970's and later Forrence Orchards before going to work at Diamond International.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. LaCinda and her family would go camping at places like AuSable Point Camp Ground and play croquet. She was a member of the Apple Valley Senior Citizen Club and Wesleyan Church in Plattsburgh.
LaCinda was predeceased by her parents; a great-grandson, Tucker Stickle; and a brother, Walter Kemp III.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William Cook of Plattsburgh; five children, Kevin Cook and his companion Kathy Tudor of Hampton, N.Y., Patricia Cook and her companion Don Acors of Mooers, N.Y., William Cook Jr., and his companion Laurie Austin of Schenectady, N.Y., Nancy Stickle and her husband Henry of Plattsburgh and Jacqueline Stickle and her husband Edward of Morrisonville; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; seven siblings, George Rivers, Vicki Tousignant, Pete Boudrieau, Dana Boudrieau, Julie Bedard, Jeff Boudrieau and Becky Hodge. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Gilliland Cemetery in Plattsburgh later in the year. Donations in LaCinda's memory may be made to the Peru Fire Deptartment or Gilliland Cemetery.
