Mark Bingel, a 2000 Beekmantown graduate, was awarded a doctor of chiropractic degree in August from Parker Chiropractic University in Dallas, Texas. He has also earned bachelor degrees in anatomy, health and wellness and graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2006 with a degree in nutrition. The son of Gary and Janet Bingel of Morrisonville, he has accepted a position at the Rainier Chiropractic Clinic in Yelm, Wash., working with Dr. Joe Dispenza, neurologist, chiropractor, lecturer and author. Bingel is the brother of Dr. Sara Bingel of Fredericksburg, Va., and he is engaged to Dr. Amber Woods of Centralia, Wash.
Caitlyn LaPier, a physics major at Oneonta who is from Chazy, was a member of the SUNY Oneonta Women’s Soccer team that finished 13-5-3 overall and won the WUNYAC title and qualified for the NCAA tournament. She played in all 21 games and started in four this season, scoring one goal.
Saint Michael’s College student Kelsey Locke, daughter of Colleen and Kelly Locke of Lake Placid, is studying abroad in Salzburg, Austria, at the University of Salzburg. A senior psychology major at St. Michael’s in Colchester, Vt., she graduated from Burke Mountain Academy.

Carlton and Ethel B. Simpson Memorial Endowed Scholarship; Lauren Adams of Hogansburg, a senior majoring in civil engineering, the Wallace H. Coulter Endowed Scholarship; Brian Ashline of Burke, a senior majoring in global supply chain management, the James D. Cartin Memorial Endowed Scholarship; Marissa Cook of Chateaugay, a senior majoring in psychology, the Sara Snell Petersen/W.
