Moriah man charged with sex abuse

MORIAH — A Moriah man was charged Wednesday with felony sexual abuse.

State Police received a report that Andrew J. Johnson, 33, had sexually abused an 8-year-old child in 2009 near the Town of Horicon in Warren County, State Police said in a news release.

Johnson’s arrest is the result of a joint investigation between State Police in Ray Brook and Queensbury.

Johnson was charged with first-degree sexual abuse and was arraigned in Horicon Town Court.

He was sent to Warren County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.

Johnson is scheduled to reappear in court at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26.
