LAKE PLACID 4, MORIAH 3

PORT HENRY — The Blue Bombers were able to hold off the Vikings.

Ryan Meyer earned a complete-game victory for Lake Placid. He had 13 strikeouts and also helped himself out offensively by going 2-for-3 with a triple.

Moriah coach Casey Nephew said that Meyer was on his game the whole time.

“He really kept us off balance,” Nephew said. “When you get 13 strikeouts and good defense, it helps you.”

Losing pitcher Jordan Greenough went four innings for the Vikings. Christopher Clarke took over in the fifth, and seven of the nine outs he recorded were by strikeout.

“Clarke just came in for us and pitched lights out,” Nephew said.

The Blue Bombers held 3-0 and 4-1 leads before Moriah made it interesting with two runs in the sixth to cut its deficit to one.

C.J. Raymond homered for the Vikings, and Jarred MacDougal added a triple.
