---- — GARDNER - A funeral service for Virginia Ruth Gardner, 78, of Altona, who died on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, was held on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Holy Angels Church in Altona. Rev. Gilbert Boisvert, Pastor, celebrated a Mass of Christian burial. The pall was placed by her granddaughters, Alison Reznek, Katie Caska, Ashley Jennett, Leslie Marking, Heidi Marking, Jill Moore, Juliana Gardner, Corrinne Butz and Casey Gardner. The crucifix was placed by her children, Debra Bruce, Cynthia Jennett, Patricia Stein, Patrick Gardner, Barbara Marking, Michael Gardner and Leslie Gardner. The Bible was placed by her husband, Lester Gardner. Readings were done by her granddaughters, Ashley Jennett and Juliana Gardner. Words of remembrance were given by her sisters, Beverly Moody, Sylvia Brockway and her daughter, Cynthia Jennett. The gifts were presented by her granddaughters, Alison Reznek and Katie Caska. Pallbearers were her sons, Patrick Gardner, Leslie Gardner, and grandsons, Scott Lushia, Neil Lushia, Matthew Bruce, Daniel Bruce, Christopher Ackerman, Nathan Merrick, Justin Gardner, Craig Gardner, Bradley Gardner and Jace Marking. Soloists were Izabelle and Maria Almodozar. Musician was Bob Rubado. Burial followed in the parish cemetery where Rev. Boisvert recited committal prayers. Arrangements are in the care of the R.W.
