Service recognized

PLATTSBURGH — Alan Booth was recently recognized after he left the Behaviorial Heath Services North Board of Directors after serving two rounds on the board, the latest from 2006-13.

Booth served as the treasurer as well as on other committees of the board including Long-Range Planning and Finance.

Members of the board and CEO Craig Amoth feted Booth at a luncheon presenting him with a slate plaque in recognition of his consistent, long-time service to BHSN.

Surplus auction

SARNAC LAKE — a surplus-vehicle and highway-equipment auction has been scheduled in Saranac Lake for 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at 87 Fish Hatchery Road, according to the New York State Office of General Services.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and State Police Ray Brook vehicles will be among those sold.

Food drive

DANNEMORA — Dannemora Federal Credit Union is holding a Community Food Drive from now through Nov. 25 to benefit the Dannemora JCEO Outreach Center, which is in need of Thanksgiving food for the upcoming holiday season.

Non-perishable food donations may be dropped off at any one of the Credit Union’s branch office locations through Nov. 26. Examples of non-perishable Thanksgiving food items needed include canned vegetables; boxed potatoes and rice; boxed or bagged stuffing mixes; bags of flour, cornmeal and biscuit mixes; boxes of baking goods; cans of gravy; and cans of fruit.

In addition to the community food drive, DFCU will make its own contribution of turkeys.

DFCU branch office locations are at 50 State Road, Dannemora; 344 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh; 122 New York Road, Plattsburgh; and 10 Elm Street, Champlain.
