Donations collected

PLATTSBURGH — The U.S. Avenue Office of Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Co. raised funds and collected books for the Imaginarium Children’s Museum during a Community Appreciation Day on Friday, Aug. 16.

The event generated $130 and more than 50 books for the nonprofit museum, which is located in Plattsburgh. In addition, the bank donated a bookshelf.

The Community Appreciation Day included a range of family-friendly activities including an Airborne Park Speedway race-car display, a WIRY radio hula-hoop contest and a story hour with local authors Amy Guglielmo and Speedy Arnold. Plus, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department created 18 child ID cards for local families.

Glens Falls National provides banking and financial services through 29 offices in Warren, Washington, Saratoga, Essex and Clinton counties. It hosts community days as a way to show appreciation for its customers and neighbors and assist local causes.

Certificate obtained

PLATTSBURGH — Kate Lavalley, physical therapist of 12 years at One Step Ahead Physical Therapy, obtained her certification for Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (Cert. MDT) from the International McKenzie Institute in May of this year.

The McKenzie method is evidence-based and one of the most researched and successful methods that can provide fast and effective relief for back, neck and extremity problems, including an acute and initial assessment component — a safe and reliable means to accurately reach a diagnosis and only then make the appropriate treatment plan.

For more information, visit One Step Ahead PT at 12 Booth Drive in Plattsburgh or call 561-2225 to make an appointment. One Step Ahead participates with most insurance and in most cases a doctor’s referral is not required.

Restaurant honored

LAKE PLACID — The AAA Four Diamond The View Restaurant has been named a winner of OpenTable Diners’ Choice Awards for the Top 100 Scenic Restaurants in the United States. The list of winners is derived from more than 5 million reviews submitted by OpenTable diners for more than 15,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
