TICONDEROGA — Carolyn Ida has accepted the position of engineering leader at the Ticonderoga Mill reporting to Chris Mallon, mill manager.
She began her career as a project engineer at the Thilmany, Wisc., mill in 1990. She joined the Ticonderoga team in 1992 and has held a variety of positions including design engineer, project engineering leader, manufacturing technical and work systems role in PS&D, EDGE implementation and product development-product performance manager.
Pierre Castonguay has accepted the position of manager–energy initiatives reporting to Mallon.
In this role, he will assume responsibility for overall leadership and development of energy cost and efficiency opportunities. Castonguay holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine. He joined the International Paper team in 1984 at the Georgetown mill.
He joined the Ticonderoga team in 2002 and has held various positions including senior department engineer, manager–manufacturing excellence and engineering leader/capital and reliability.
Teo Camejo has joined the Ticonderoga team as manager of human resources.
He is a graduate of Saint Mary’s University, Caracas, Venezuela, and holds an Attorney at Law Degree with a specialization in labor law. He has completed advanced studies in Human Resources Development, Global Organizations Alignment and Advanced Leader People Management. Most recently, Camejo served as vice president of human resources with Ener1 Inc. in Indianapolis, Ind.
PLATTSBURGH — Doctors William P. Caldon, Michael T. O’Connor and Donnon O’Neill of High Peaks Dental have appointed Amanda Hartmann to the position of office manager in the Plattsburgh office.
Hartmann joined High Peaks Dental in July 2012. Born in Landstuhl, Germany, and raised in Plattsburgh, she graduated from Plattsburgh High School and continued her education at Plattsburgh State, majoring in Psychology and Women’s Studies.
She moved to Southern California and had the opportunity to work with international trade expositions throughout the country. Upon returning to Plattsburgh, she entered the field of medical practice management.
“Amanda brings to High Peaks Dental over 10 years’ experience as a medical practice manager with a firm commitment to customer service and professionalism,” O’Connor said. “She is a great asset to the High Peaks Dental Plattsburgh office and we are privileged to have Amanda as part of our team.”
PLATTSBURGH — Touraid Travel, located on Route 3 in Plattsburgh, recently sent nine of their Travel Specialists, Jill Lawyer, Claudia Mitchell, Hannah Williams, Jane Galletti, Nina Duprey, Kayleigh Allen, Christina King, Kelly Hanshaw and Amanda DeCicco on a familiarization trip to visit Sandals Luxury Included Vacation locations in Jamaica.
While there, they stayed at Sandals Grande Riviera and Sandals Royal Caribbean and visited Beaches Boscobel, Royal Plantation, Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Carlyle.
The agents were able to tour each location and experience each resort’s special amenities first-hand to further their product knowledge. Besides enjoying all-included meals at Sandals popular restaurants, the agents were able to experience a family fun Sesame Street character lunch at Beaches Ocho Rios, receive a grand tour by pro golfer David Reed at Sandals Golf & Country Club, enjoy the Sandals Island Routes Tours and familiarize themselves with the only all-butler, all-suite boutique resort in the Sandals collection at Sandals Royal Plantation.
All the agents came back with a greater knowledge of the Sandals and Beaches Resort products they sell every day. This product knowledge and on-site training is essential to the industry, as their knowledge and insight will likely assist future clients and guests in making their next vacation decision.
LAKE PLACID — In a year that has seen the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa in Lake Placid receive the AAA Four Diamond Award of Excellence for the 28th consecutive year, Wine Spectator Magazine has issued the resort its Award of Excellence for the 13th straight year.
In addition, International Business Times ranked Lake Placid second in its list of 10 Best Lake Vacations in the United States. Also, IBT recommended staying at the Mirror Lake Inn.
