Awards received

PLATTSBURGH — The following agents have earned annual RE/MAX International sales production awards, according to RE/MAX North Country.

Tina Calkins Covey earned the Platinum Award. Less than six percent of the RE/MAX network achieved this distinction.

Kathy Bennett, Michelle Fowler and Tammy Perrotte Sears each earned the RE/MAX 100% Club Award. In 2013, fewer than 23 percent of all RE/MAX Affiliates earned this award.

Kathy Madore and Tom Tucker each earned the RE/MAX Executive Club Award.

Dealer honored

PLATTSBURGH — Taylor Rental in Plattsburgh recently received the 2013 Mahindra New Dealer of the Year Award for the most tractors sold in 2013.

Jordon Keleher and Christopher Akey attended the five-day conference in Nashville, Tenn., this past November. They participated in operational practices and training for all areas of Mahindra tractors. Introduction to new products, finance and operation practices, training and evaluation of used equipment were among many of the topics covered.

As a surprise, Taylor Rental was the recipient of the Mahindra New Dealer of the Year Award. Out of 100-plus new dealers in the U.S., Taylor Rental sold the most tractors in 2013.

Not only does Taylor Rental sell, they also service Mahindra and all models of tractors.

Grants bestowed

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Rotary Club has recently given three grants to support local projects throughout Clinton County.

Babbie Rural Farm Museum located in Peru received a grant of $250 to construct a milking-cow simulation that will allow a hands-on experience for visitors.

A grant of $375 was given to Literacy Volunteers of America-Clinton County to assist in purchasing materials used to train tutors. Tutors are trained and then able to work either one-on-one, in small groups or with computer-assisted instruction with area residents. These materials will allow the program to train more tutors and shrink the gap between the number of tutors and the number of those waiting to learn.
