Certification earned

PLATTSBURGH — Associate Broker Joshua Golden has earned the nationally recognized Short Sales and Foreclosure Specialist certification, according to Century 21 Foote Ryan.

The National Association of REALTORS offers the SFR certification to REALTORS who want to help both buyers and sellers navigate these complicated transactions as demand for professional expertise with distressed sales grows.

According to a recent NAR survey, nearly one-third of all existing homes sold recently were either short sales or foreclosures. For many real-estate professionals, short sales and foreclosures are the new “traditional” transaction. REALTORS who have earned the SFR certification know how to help sellers maneuver the complexities of short sales as well as help buyers pursue short-sale and foreclosure opportunities.

New officer

SARANAC LAKE — Adirondack Health has welcomed a seasoned professional to serve as its new chief financial officer.

Greg Moore began work as a member of Adirondack Health’s executive leadership team recently. His most recent position was as interim chief executive officer at Pioneers Memorial Hospital in California.

Moore has 17 years of progressive responsibility in administration and finance for both not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare organizations.

“I believe I was a far more effective CEO because of my experiences as a CFO and vice-versa,” Moore said. “It’s not always about the bottom line — you have to look carefully at what the community needs are, and you also have a responsibility to provide quality care.”

Moore’s decision to accept the CFO position was based on the progressive philosophy of Adirondack Health and to be a part of an organization that has implemented new ways of improving healthcare for the community. He pointed to Adirondack Health ‘s involvement in the Medical Home project that focuses on the patient-centered approach of delivering care. He also cited the specialty physician practices such as wound care, rheumatology and cardiology provided by Adirondack Health, and future plans to provide a broader range of elder-care services at the Uihlein campus in Lake Placid.
