PLATTSBURGH — Career Step, a health-care education company, has partnered with Clinton Community College to offer training to people interested in careers in medical transcription and medical coding and billing.

Career Step's courses will be the first programs offered entirely online through Clinton Community College's Continuing Education Department.

The college will be the exclusive provider of Career Step training in the Plattsburgh area.

The courses will have an open enrollment format, allowing students training flexibility to match their schedules.

Clinton Community College will be holding an open house from 5 to 6 tonight in the first-floor lobby of the main building for those interested in learning more.

"Through our partnership with CCC, students will gain the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the growing fields of medical transcription and medical coding and billing," Career Step Vice President of Business Services Cameron Loflin said in a news release.

"We researched other medical coding and billing and transcription programs and found that Career Step provided the best support to students," CCC Assistant in Continuing Education Kathleen Stone said in the release.

"I was impressed with the ease of the online course management system and the additional support provided to students after they complete the course."
